R350 Grant ‘Briefly Suspended’: These Are Payment Dates For October

SASSA will not be making any payments for R350 grant for the first week of October, amid a flood of complaints that have been registered with the Public Protector.SASSA has made a confirmation that payments for the R350 grant will be suspended ‘for the first week of October’, as the department wants to pay other social grants first.

How Long Will SASSA’S R350 Grant Payments Be Suspended?

The South African Post Office has revealed that no payments of the R350 grant will take place before Wednesday 7 October. They have since clarified that the SRD handouts will resume for the rest of the month after this date, however:

“The COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress payment – or SASSA’s R350 grant – will be suspended for the first week of next month. However, they will be available for the rest of the month, after Wednesday 7 October.”

SASSA Grant Payment Dates For October 2020

The Post Office has confirmed the schedule for SASSA payments in the first week of October:

• Elderly people can collect their grants from Monday.
• Disabled people will receive payments from Tuesday 6 October.
• Child grants will be paid from Wednesday 7 October.
• Please note, the COVID-19 R350 payments are suspended from 1 – 7 October.
