The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has introduced new flexible methods recipients can use to receive their R350 grant, which will be paid until the end of October.SASSA in short made beneficiaries awareness that they will receive the amount of R350 for the period of 6 months and this amount amounts to R2100 for every beneficiary.

Beneficiaries are now allowed to change their cash payment from the Post Office to a bank account of their choice, or vice versa. They may even change banks or choose a cash send option.

This means SASSA beneficiaries now have an opportunity to receive their grants at their chosen and convenient outlets.  Applications to switch payment options are open from today (Monday, 3 August) to Sunday, 9 August, 24 hours a day.

As PAYMENTS for the Social Relief of Distress SRD grant begun in May 2020 many people did not receive PAYMENTS for that month as the system was still being tested if it functions well with minimal challenges.

To check your payday date go to www.sassa.gov.za. and follow the link for checking SRD grant status. When you have been given the payday date, you can now wait for your grant payment.

Additionally, you can opt to receive instant payment of your grant you can choose to receive money through your bank account or choose to receive it through e-wallet.

If you choose post office for your first payment you have to wait for a message from the Post office telling you to collect your money. Then for the following payments, you will not receive SMS so you just have to go on your payday date or after it.
