His family has confirmed that he died In the wee hours of Wednesday (August 8) night after suffering a seizure.

Prokid (Linda Mkhize’s) family has released a statement saying he was visiting friends when the seizure occurred and paramedics could not revive him.

His fans and colleagues in the music industry have taken their tributes to  social media.

Prokid’s fellow hip-hop artist Proverb called called him a legend, while Tweezy said he was an inspiration.

His family has asked for privacy and details on his memorial and funeral service will be announced in time.
