A few months ago Skeem Saam actress Lesego Marakalla announced she was leaving the popular SABC1 series. The reason, she said, was to go back to school full time.\u201cI will miss my Skeem Saam family dearly. I have created some good friendships and memories,\u201d she said. However, Rachel Kunutu\u00a0has been with the Skeem Saam for 8 years now.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n As mentioned already, she said she was leaving acting to concentrate more on her studies. However, the producers of the show see this as some form of betrayal. Skeem Saam producers feel like Rachel is just using the school as an excuse to leave the show because she had other options like doing part-time schooling.<\/p>\n The producers mentioned that they made Rachel a star that she is now and she just wants to leave the show just like that. The producers have tried all tricks to make Rachel Kanutu stay but the actress\u00a0 won’t change her mind. Some of the tricks they tried were to increase her salary but still didn’t win.<\/p>\n As we all know, Rachael’s character was loved by many of Skeem Saam followers and they could relate to her. Due to that, the producers had made her character a permanent one for they expected her to be with the show for longer.
